My Dear Garden: year 5

Year 5

1. Preparation

Last year was the first year that I didn’t clean up the garden before. so all the dried stuff just stayed there all winter and it got nasty. now that it was time to prepare the garden, I had this extra work, and it was just a huge mess, loads of work. so this was the first and last time I was this neglectful.

This year I also refreshed the soil, and reinstalled all the bottles on the fence neatly with new ropes and new soil. now I still gotta clean up the terrace and change the soil in the great pots, but the preparation is almost done.

inside the apartment the little pots are prepared for the seedlings, and the rosemary, the salad, the spinach and the tomatoe and the salad and the spinach are already planted. I might gotta replant the spinach and the tomatoe, but I will see. in case it would freeze.

tomorrow I am planting the indigo seeds, and the rest of the herb seeds, and then I will plant the cosmos and the coreopsis, as soon as the seeds have arrived.

this year I ordered 13 types of heirloom organic tomato seeds and I am very excited to plant them all and care and learn about them all.

I also ordered several types of cosmos, and this year my focus besides caring for everyone I planted properly will be the gathering and saving of the seeds in the end of the season, so I will not have to buy them again.
